On My Own

“On My Own” is one of my favorite songs from the hit Boublil and Schönberg musical, Les Misérables. Our protagonist, Éponine, adores Marius, but Marius loves another. She sings this poignant song of unrequited love while delivering a message from Marius to his beloved Cosette.

Here’s the 69-second intro to the song, fully rendered and given a sepia filter to conserve web space.

The audio comes from my original Broadway cast album of Les Mis, with Frances Ruffelle singing the part of Éponine. I prefer Lea Salonga’s voice, but don't have her version of the soundtrack.
